This is a hollow brass stirrup from India
There is a bead within its hollow body that "rings" as it moves.

There is a stylised peacock on each side of the small suspension ring at the top.

The sides have pierced decoration and a rope design.

There are three bud-shaped projections on the base of the stirrup.

The stirrup came from the collection of the late Elvis Roy, the author of "The Hindu Warrior" (Catalogue number K26 - the remains of this number can be seen on the tread)
