• Compact Cyclone Dust Extractor for home use
• Efficiently separates the wood waste from the airflow
• Use with a variety of machines from thicknessers to sanders
• Airflow: measured in our workshop 1,095m3/hr @125mmThe Axminster AW118E cyclone extractor is designed for the enthusiastic home woodworker with features in common with professional models. Compared to other forms of extractors, a cyclone provides a much more efficient performance. The cyclone separates the larger waste particles from the finer dust, before the airflow passes through the extractor’s fan. As a consequence, the fan operates more efficiently maintaining a consistent speed. The heavier waste falls into one bag or container whilst the very fine particles collect in separate receptacle. The cyclone removes the bulk of the waste before it reaches the extractor’s filter. The filter requires cleaning less frequently with far less mess involved.
The AW118E is quite compact, a tubular steel frame supports the cyclone, body, filter and collection bag. The cartridge filter has a manual filter cleaning system. Castors ensure mobility around the workshop. There is a choice of either twin 100mm or a single 125mm inlet. The collection bag is a generous 118-litre and held by a quick release clip. There is a separate collection bag under the filter for fine dust, which in practice, will rarely need emptying. The 1.5kW induction motor provides plenty of performance and runs happily on a domestic 13A supply.
This extractor is efficient, reasonably quiet and very capable. For most home workshops it will be all that you will need.
Airflow: as measured in the Axminster workshop 990m3/hr @100mm and 1,095m3/hr @125mm.
The hose size should not be reduced to less than 75mm, otherwise a marked drop in performance will occur.
