Our Small Crook Knife or spoon knife has a curved blade with a single external bevel for the removal of material in the bowl of a spoon. They are available both left and right handed.

Having a pair of both left and right is very useful when carving spoons and bowls as you can cut from both sides of the bowl and also can use a push cut rather than a pull cut. If you are a beginner we would suggest starting with just one spoon knife for your dominant hand.

The Small Crook Knife is ideal for spoons and small cups and is a general purpose crook knife to get you started. The diameter is about 25mm or 1” if the blade was a complete circle.

We also make these same blades with a longer, hybrid style handle which is curved so you can use it like the Indian Crook Knife. It is very useful when making vessels like cups or noggins, but can be used as a spoon knife too.

This crook knife is supplied with a leather blade wrap to protect the edge.
