Description:
Trumpet, Trombone, and Organ: Baroque music with majestic sounds! The Baroque period saw the birth of many instrumental works due to the development of musical instruments, including improvements made to conventional instruments. Until then, counterpoint works were mainly choral works, but during the Baroque period, many counterpoint works using instruments were also composed, and the establishment of the basso continuo was one of the characteristics of this period. This album contains a number of works for trumpet, trombone, and organ that were born out of such development and evolution of music technology. Antonio Carretta, who teaches at the Umberto Giordano Conservatory in Italy and is an authority on baroque trumpet and Renaissance cornet, and the second prize and best Italian performer at the international competition held at the Parco della Musica in Rome in November 2017 Aldo Caterina, a talented trombonist who won the prize, will bring the refined works of the period to the present day in wonderful harmonies with the organ. The recordings were made in two churches in Italy, using precious organs from the 16th and 18th centuries. The church location makes the sound of this piece even more sacred. Tokyo M-Plus
