This compact network interface is designed to transform ordinary USB‑C media disks into high‑performance shared storage for modern film, television and post‑production workflows. By eliminating internal storage, the device remains extremely small, silent and portable, while still delivering professional‑grade performance over high‑speed networks. It is purpose‑built for collaborative environments where media needs to be accessed locally by multiple users and synchronised globally in minutes.
The unit connects directly to one or two USB‑C flash disks, making recorded camera media instantly available on a local network. A built‑in 10 Gbit Ethernet connection ensures very low‑latency file access, even when several editors, colourists or audio engineers are working at the same time. Because the storage is external, disks can be physically moved between sets, studios or offices, then reconnected without copying data or reconfiguring systems.
A key strength of this solution is its tight integration with Blackmagic Cloud. Once connected, media can be synchronised automatically between multiple locations around the world, giving each site a fast local copy of the same files. Proxy workflows are fully supported, allowing entire timelines and their associated media to be shared rapidly, even when original camera files are extremely large. This approach reduces bandwidth usage while maintaining a smooth editing experience.
Monitoring and system status are designed to be clear and immediate. An HDMI output allows a television or monitor to display a live graphical overview of disk activity, user access, network performance and cloud sync status. A front‑panel status indicator provides instant visual feedback when disks are being accessed, while an underside light glows white during normal operation and red if a disk or power issue is detected.
Configuration is handled via Ethernet or USB‑C using Blackmagic Cloud Setup software, making installation straightforward without specialised IT knowledge. With no internal fans or drives, operation is completely silent, making it suitable for edit suites, control rooms or on‑set environments where noise is undesirable.
