Description:

Among Mahler's works, Symphony No. 4 is relatively small in size and has a chamber music-like sound. The best known version of this work arranged for chamber orchestra is the 1921 version by Erwin Stein, a composer of the same generation as Schoenberg, but this performance uses a version arranged by Spanish conductor Carlos Dominguez-Nieto, who was born in 1972. Stein's version uses truncated strings, winds, and percussion, and a piano and harmonium to compensate for the lack of sound, but this version uses bassoon, horn, and harp, which are not used in Stein's version, to create a light and heavenly sound. The performance will be given by the Spellman Foundation, which was founded in 2006. The performance is by the Spanish Camerata Gala, founded in 2006. Under the direction of conductor Alejandro Muñoz, the orchestra has given more than 100 concerts throughout Spain, winning numerous awards. Raquel Rojendio, who has performed in European opera houses, shows off her beautiful voice in the last movement of No. 4 and three songs. Naxos Japan
