Despite their seashore ubiquity wherever food might be found, I do believe seagulls are very beautiful and graceful birds! Vintage and carved of walrus ivory I believe, this pin captures the sense of soaring pretty nicely I think--or, worn in the other direction, plunging!

I am not sure where this pin was made; possibly Inuit but unsigned and I'm not entirely sure. I realized after photographing it (at 2x magnification) that the recesses between feathers need a little scrub, which I will do!  Very good condition. 3 1/8" long x 1 1/4" wide.
