Easy to make, Lotta is a perfect project for beginners, and a satisfying speedy sew for more experienced stitchers. It has a blousy bodice and flared skirt, cinched in with a narrow elasticated waistline.

Choose from a knee-length or midi-length skirt, with grown-on short sleeves or bracelet-length drop shoulder sleeves, with optional deep patch pockets. To make it even more versatile, you can make this dress in either woven fabric or stretchy jersey.

Fabric requirements: 

Light- to medium-weight drapey fabrics such as chambray, viscose/rayon, Tencel/lyocell, double gauze, brushed cotton or crêpe. The short sleeve version can be made in less drapey fabrics such as linen, cotton lawn, and seersucker.For more experienced stitchers, single knit drapey jersey, stretch velvet or light-weight French terry can also be used.

You will need: 2.5-2.8m x 150cm wide OR 2.5-2.9m x 115cm wide (for sizes 1-5, in knee length only).

(Note you cannot use 115cm wide fabric for the midi length version or for sizes 5 and above as the pieces won't fit on the fabric. All sizes of the knee-length dress and sizes 1-6 of the midi-length dress will also fit on 140cm (56in) wide fabric. Sizes 7-8 of the midi-length dress will fit on 145cm (58in) wide fabric.)
