The blades are full-tang in construction with imitation leather wrapped around the hilt to prevent the wielder from gripping bare steel. The guard is a simple separation of hilt from blade, made from cast aluminum and set with gold-metal plates for decoration. These guards are not designed for catching or intercepting blades but rather to prevent the hand from slipping up onto the blade. The ricasso on the blade is unsharpened and acid-etched, enhancing the already-beautiful design of the weapons. The blades are unique and distinctive in shape. Possessing wicked double-curve, they are vaguely scimitar-like in shape with a design that is definitively elven.
