WOW™ Headplates come in 19 sizes and 3 shapes with the largest range of headplate angles available on the market, ranging from 73 to 143 degrees.  All 19 sizes and 3 shapes will fit in any WOW Saddle and are quickly and easily swapped out using a 4mm hex drive. These headplates will not fit in any other changeable gullet saddle - only a WOW.
 
The most commonly used are the "U" headplates which are available in 11 different sizes starting at -1 (73 degrees), 0 (80 degrees), 1 (87 degrees), 2 (94 degrees) 3 (101 degrees), 4 (108 degrees), 5 (115 degrees), 6 (122 degrees), 7 (129 degrees), 8 (136 degrees), and 9 (143 degrees).  The difference between each size is 7 degrees.
 
The "V" style are available in five sizes; -1 (73), 0 (80), 1 (87), 2 (94) and 3 (101) degrees.  These are for horses with very narrow spinal processes and very little shoulder, or horses who require a little more support at the front of the saddle.
 
The "UU" style are available in five sizes; -1 (73), 0 (80), 1 (87), 2 (94) and 3 (101) degrees.  These are for horses with exceptionally wide spinal processes and well-established musculature, such as drafts, or horses built quite uphill who need slightly less support at the front of the saddle.

At 101 degrees, all three headplate shapes have an identical profile, so if your horse is currently in a 3V and you need to go up a size, you would require a 4U. Likewise, if your horse is currently in a 3UU and you need to increase the size, you would move up to a 4U.

Western Headplates

WOW’s headplates are also available in a western style, which has a flared center with two holes at the front edge for the horn to attach through. You can also attach WOW’s para-rider handle (Style 1) to this headplate in any English Para-saddle.

Please note: While WOW’s English headplates can be used in WOW’s western saddles, western headplates cannot be fitted to an English saddle (unless it is a para-saddle). If using an English headplate in your WOW western saddle, you will not be able to attach your horn as that is attached to the front mounting holes on the western headplate. If that's acceptable to you, there is no harm in using an English WOW headplate in your WOW Western saddle.
