This truly enchanting 1940's crepe silk gown, rendered in the most vibrant shade of vermilion red and embellished with gold lamé soutache embroidery surrounding floral beadwork in shades of blue, red and green, is the perfect show stopper for your vintage collection. 

The rounded neckline of the dress, is framed by a simple shoulder line, which is accented by internally sewn shoulder pads along each shoulder seam. The short length petal cut sleeves, cross over in a rounded finish along each external side. The elegant cut of the bodice, is accented by single bust-darts along either side of the bust-line, and tailored darts which run up from the waist-seam. The right hand side of the bodice is intricately decorated with trailing floral embroidery and beadwork. The fitted waistline, draws the eye to the drape of the skirt-line, which is accented by trailing floral beadwork along the front right hand side and along the lower left hand side. Finished with a keyhole feature along the nape and a panelled cut along the back of the skirt-line which creates soft pleats and accents the circle cut of the hemline, completing this gown in a truly magnificent and timeless 1940's silhouette.

Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. A small area of irregular weave along the back left hand side shoulder blade area . A small pin sized darn along the back right hand side of the skirt-line just below the waist seam. A small pin sized age mark along the back central part of the skirt-line along the central seam. Very subtle and gentle age marks along the edges of the hemline along the front and back of the skirt-line. Gentle colour variation along the right hand side shoulder. Two small age marks along the front left hand side of the skirt-line below the hipline. Two pin sized areas of colour fading along the right hand side of the skirt line in line with the last beaded red flower near the side. An age mark along the bottom right hand side of the skirt-line just above the hemline. Two small pin holes along the bottom left hand side of the skirt-line. A very small scattering of age marks along the left hand side bottom of the skirt-line near the side seam.  These very minor imperfections are not apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable upon close inspection.  Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report. 

Fastenings: This dress fastens along the nape with a loop and eye and along the side seam with a 10.5 inch metal zip.
