These are a true find. Most Ferragamos from this period are either lost to the ages or are in museums. Very rarely do ones in such fine condition show up for grabs anymore.
Notice the gold stamp, unlike the modern Ferragamo that read "Salvatore Ferragamo Florence - Made in Italy", these read "Ferragamo's Creations - Florence Italy", on the bottom leather sole they are stamped "hand made in Italy".
Oh yes, they are rare, but more-so, they are fabulous!! Ferragamo used this shade of burgundy quite a bit during the 1940s, the suede is ridiculously soft and beautiful. The stylish 2" heel is both chic and comfortable. The toe is slightly upturned like some of his more iconic designs, but where the really far out ones continue up to a point, these tips were tucked back to hint at the exotic while keeping a wearable, more moderate look. The upper seams open into little wings at the top.
