This truly mesmerising 1950's dress, rendered in a forest green silk faille, accented by black floral lace, which is in turn embellished with black sequins and glass beads, and finished with a contrasting black rayon skirt, is the perfect addition to your vintage collection.  

The deep V shaped neckline of the dress is framed by a forest green faille silk turned down lapel. The simple shoulder line sets off the sleeveless cut of the dress. The fitted green faille silk bodice, boasts a black floral lace overlay, which frames the neckline with a scalloped and eye-lash lace design, drawing the eye to the central double pleat feature along the bust-line which enables the fabric to pleat softly along the bust. The black floral lace overlay is embellished with black sequins and accented by areas of trailing black glass beadwork. The fitted waistline of the dress, sets off the elegant peplum design of the forest green faille silk and lace overlay, which flares out along the hipline, from triple gathered pleats that radiate from either side of the front waistline, drawing the eye to the concealed pockets along each side. Finished with a straight cut hemline, that meets in triangular points along the back of the dress. The peplum design boasts a finishing details of scalloped and eye-lash finished lace. The peplum bodice, sits above a full circle cut skirt-line in black rayon, which radiates from small gathered pleats along the waist-seam beneath the peplum. The hemline of the skirt is finished with a border of mesh, which allows for the gentle flare of the rayon and accents the incredible construction of this piece. Completed with a deep rounded backline, this incredible 1950's dress showcases the iconic silhouette of the era.

Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. A small area of lace loss along the front left hand side of the bodice just above the waist seam. A small area of black glass bead loss along the back left hand side of the top of the bodice . Gentle beadwork loss along each shoulder. Four slits to the black rayon skirt line to the front left hand side of the hemline. These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn and are only apparent upon close inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report. 
 
Fastenings: This dress fastens along the side seam with a 13 inch metal zip and a hook and eye and a single press stud drawing the peplum edges across the zip fastening
