Shrujan’s ‘Kaleidoscope’ 45cm X 30cm multi-coloured hand embroidered handloom mushroo cotton takiya cover has been embroidered by the women of the Jat Garaasiya community from the Kutch region of Gujarat. The embroidery is done by counting the thread of the fabric. The designs are not printed and the artisan herself is the designer of the embroidery. This style is characterized by geometrical patterns in bright colours. The mushroom cotton used in this takiya cover is handwoven in Kutch and the back of the takiya cover is made from discharge and block printed cotton.
