Our Process

At Backwoods, we ensure that a certified WETT inspector is always present during the chimney cleaning process. In some instances, we may also have an additional crew member to expedite the process.

Our cleaning approach is tailored to your specific needs and the condition of your roof. Generally, we start at the top and work our way down to minimize any interior mess. However, if necessary, we can also clean from the inside going upwards. Both methods are equally effective and efficient.

To protect your home, we lay down drop-cloths around the wood stove or fireplace and use a vacuum cleaner while sweeping the chimney to prevent soot from escaping the firebox.

At Backwoods, we don't just clean your chimney; we also care for your wood stove or fireplace. Our comprehensive service includes inspecting for damages to the baffle, bricks, and other components, cleaning the entire fireplace or wood stove, and examining the surrounding area. Additionally, we conduct a visual inspection of the chimney system to identify any potential WETT code or safety concerns.

To schedule a chimney cleaning, you have two options:

We strive to optimize our service routes and save you on mileage costs. When we have enough customers in your area or nearby, we plan a day to clean 6-10 chimneys. We will notify you at least a week in advance via call, text, or email to schedule a date and time. If the proposed date is inconvenient, we will gladly reschedule. Rest assured, your chimney will be cleaned before the season starts.
