This stamp originates from the Weimar Republic period (Deutsches Reich, circa 1920). Issued as an official service stamp (Dienstmarke), it features the large “60” numeral at center with an ornamental design and stars in the corners. Originally part of the official issues, it was later overprinted “Deutsches Reich” in bold Gothic script, reflecting postal changes in the early post–World War I years. Such overprints are of great philatelic interest, as they highlight Germany’s transitional period of currency and postal reform. A desirable piece for collectors specializing in German Officials, Weimar Republic issues, and overprinted varieties.
