Strepfen Lemon and Honey 8.75 mg, lozenges

This medicine contains flurbiprofen. Flurbiprofen belongs to a group of medicines called 'non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs' (NSAIDs). These medicines have analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects.

What is this medicine used for

This medicine is used for the short-term relief of throat complaints such as sore throat and swelling in adults and children over 12 years of age.

Do not use if:

if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to flurbiprofen or any of the other ingredients

if you have ever had asthma, wheezing or shortness of breath, nasal irritation, swelling of the face or itchy skin rash (hives) after taking aspirin or another NSAID
if you have or have had an ulcer or bleeding in your stomach or intestines (two or more episodes of stomach ulcer)
if you have ever had bleeding or perforation in your stomach or intestines, severe inflammation of the bowel (colitis) or bleeding problems after taking NSAID medicines

if you are taking another NSAID (for example celecoxib, ibuprofen, diclofenac sodium, etc.)
if you are in the last 3 months of your pregnancy
if you have or have had severe heart failure, kidney failure or liver failure
if your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to certain sugars

Active substances:  flurbiprofen 8.75 mg

Excipients: macrogol 300, potassium hydroxide (E525), lemon flavour (contains butylhydroxyanisole (E320)), levomenthol, invert sugar (honey), liquid glucose (contains wheat starch and sulphur dioxide (E220)) and liquid sucrose.
