Omega Genève Automatic Date | Ref. ST 162.0052 | 1973
Here’s the thing, this is peak early-1970s Omega design. Sharp lines, a cushion-style case, and a dial that has aged exactly the way collectors hope it will. Honest, unforced patina, no cosmetic drama, just time doing its thing.
This Omega Genève ref. ST 162.0052 comes from 1973 and houses the excellent Calibre 1012 automatic movement, one of Omega’s most respected workhorse calibres of the era. Slim, efficient, and reliable, it was designed for daily wear, not safe queens.
The silver sunburst dial shows visible aging and spotting, which adds real character and makes each example unique. No two look the same once time has had its say. The case retains its original shape with crisp lines, and the proportions sit beautifully on the wrist.
Fitted with an aftermarket leather strap and buckle, keeping the focus where it should be, on the watch itself.

Why Collectors Care
The Genève line was Omega’s way of delivering serious mechanical quality without the formality of the Constellation. Ref. 162.0052 is a great example of that philosophy, modern for its time, wearable today, and powered by a calibre that watchmakers still respect.
The patina here is not a flaw. It’s the point.
