Distilled from a mash bill of 56% rye, 33% corn, and 11% malted barley, Wilderness Trail's flagship rye whiskey is aged at least four years before bottling without chill filtration at 100 proof.  The nose opens with sweet citrus and honey followed by scents of rye bread, vanilla, cedar wood, and mint.  On the palate, flavors of honey-lemon and caramel greet the tongue before rye bread and anise join on the middle of the tongue.  The finish brings oak and some peppery spice along with butterscotch sweetness.
