These art deco earrings begin with a geometric top set with tanzanite and light sapphire blue crystal. An oval vintage blue star sapphire glass cabochon is suspended from a tapering element. Vintage crystal accents glimmer in this long, sassy, very 1920s style. Made in our Los Angeles studio. Size 2" L x3/8" W. Exquisite detail. Finished in .925 silver. Hand burnished.

The Inspiration: All of the decorative arts of the deco period were influenced by the mystique of the Orient. I acquired this glass many years ago when I dealt with a dealer in New York who had been the primary importer of glass jewels during the 1930s and 1940s. I often bought goods sight unseen, just on his opinion. These vintage elements are used very selectively for my limited edition jewelry designs.
