A fascinating collection of five antique pressed tin die patterns dating from the late Victorian to early Edwardian period, circa 1880–1920.

The group comprises two heraldic elephant motifs, a monkey figure standing upon a decorative plinth, a crown or coronet motif, and a decorative boss pattern. These unusual pieces likely originated from a specialist workshop and may have been used as die-maker’s patterns, decorative metalwork patterns, bookbinding tools, or for the production of heraldic and ornamental designs.

Each piece displays excellent detail and a rich aged patina acquired through years of practical use. The elephant motifs are particularly striking and may relate to armorial, civic, military or decorative heraldry.
