Omega Constellation Manhattan | Two-Tone Steel/Gold | Champagne Textured Dial | Chronometer
Description
The Omega Constellation Manhattan is the design that defined the Constellation line from the early 1980s onwards. Conceived by designer Carol Didisheim, the Manhattan introduced the now-iconic griffes (claws) that hold the crystal in place, along with the integrated bracelet design and Roman numeral bezel. It was a complete reimagining of what a Constellation could look like, and it set the template for the line for the next four decades.
This example is a two-tone steel and gold version with the sought-after champagne textured dial. The textured finish gives the dial a warm, dimensional quality that catches light from every angle. Applied baton indices are flanked by small dots on the minute track. The Omega logo sits proudly at 12 o'clock, with the Constellation script and Chronometer designation below. A date window appears at 3 o'clock, framed in gold.
The griffes at 10 and 2 are Omega's design signature for this line and reveal the movement tension ring beneath them. The bezel features the classic Roman numerals etched into gold sections, a detail that became synonymous with the Manhattan. The integrated two-tone bracelet flows seamlessly from the case.

Historical Significance
The Manhattan Constellation launched in 1982 and became one of the most recognisable watch designs of the decade. Carol Didisheim's griffes were originally functional, designed to hold the crystal and gasket securely in place, but they became the visual signature that distinguishes the Manhattan at a glance. The two-tone champagne dial variant is one of the most classic configurations, combining the warmth of gold with the practicality of steel. Chronometer-certified quartz examples represent Omega's commitment to precision during the quartz era.
