An original, hand-embroidered textile crafted by Otomi artists in Mexico, rooted in rich history. The story goes that in the community of San Nicolás, an Otomi woman captured the inspiration of the animals, landscape and plants around her on a canvas with colored threads — beginning what is recognized today as the embroidery tradition, Tenangos. Each piece takes 70 hours to make, and is pinned and float mounted over a flax backer to highlight each intricate detail. Framed in Austin, Texas.
