This wonderful antique French 18k gold & onyx intaglio swivel pendant in a square setting depicts Hygieia, the Greek Goddess of health & hygiene, often associated with a snake, symbolizing healing, renewal and the link between medicine & nature. On the right, a little Angel maybe playing a flute while facing an old statue, completing the charming mythological scene, also symbolizing  healing & protection. So exquisitely carved, hallmarked with a French horse head (1838-1919). 

Pendant measurement: 1.2 inch (from the bail) the square stone measures 20 by 17mm.
