Story behind the product ~An authentic Showa fabric cushion from the Democratic Republic of Congo they are made from raffia cut-pile cloths, woven by Kuba men & embroidered by women with no stitching visible on the back. Highly prized for their complex geometric patterns, with inventive rhythm & balance, they are uniquely individual designs, the Kuba people traded them as currency.

Each cushion has been intricately created by hand. If there are small flaws it is a sign and proof of human touch, making each and every piece unique with tiny little differences.
