Sapper Hubert Anthony wrote the letters of a young man experiencing the wide world for the first time to his mother in rural New South Wales - and established one of the great political families of Australia. Doug Anthony (1929–2020) Deputy Prime Minister of Australia (1971–1972; 1975–1983) is Sapper Hubert Anthony's son.
