A super curious--and resourcefully 'make do'--little thing! The post/stand I believe is a Victorian-era cast iron receipt punch/holder, which clearly inspired the creation of the carved figure, the heart of which it pierces right through. It seems, based one some paint loss on the feet of the figure and overall patina, that it was made quite a long time ago, but I'm not completely certain. But I think it's quite a wonderful little thing, with the shape of the legs, bent at the knee, and pointy feet especially great.
Overall dimensions: 5" t x 2" wide and deep. Figure itself measures about 3 1/8" t. Very good condition with a little loss of the creamy white paint here and there. Stands sturdy and straight.
