Low sheen exterior paint is suitable for exterior surfaces such as timber (including decks), bricks, concrete, fibre-cement sheeting, plaster finishes, Hardiplank, Zincalume steel, Colorbond, Colorsteel, galvanised iron, and suitably prepared steel and wrought iron. It is fade-resistant, includes an anti-mould additive, and contains elastic compounds that prevent cracking when surfaces expand and contract due to temperature changes.

Dirt and marks will usually wash off with a hose and brush, or using a rag and soapy water, but low sheen paints are not as stain resistant or durable as higher gloss paints.
