Since I first learned of the existence of these little Inuit dolls, I've kept an eye out for one--I think they are really evocative objects, which I also understand were seen as good luck talisman. This one I know dates to at latest the 1960s and I believe is carved from caribou antler, with sinew attaching the moveable arms and legs.
It is small--about 4 1/2 inches head to toe, and 1 1/4 inches wide--and takes a bit of balancing to get to sit up on its own, though it will. It is in very good condition but the sinew holding one of the legs is a bit loose, which makes it a bit of a delicate object, for display rather than playing with for sure.
