Large Exhibition Grade Model of Liptons Steam Yacht ‘Erin’. Thomas Lipton’s Flagship of the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club, the steam yacht ‘Erin’. The steam yacht Erin, originally named Aegusa, was built by Scott’s of Greenock in 1896. Sir Thomas Lipton purchased her in 1898, renaming her Erin and using her as his flagship during multiple America’s Cup challenges. Measuring 264.5 feet with a 31.5-foot beam, she was powered by a triple-expansion engine and two Scotch boilers, combining speed with elegance.

Beyond racing, Erin hosted dignitaries and served as a symbol of Lipton’s yachting ambitions. During World War I, she was converted into a hospital ship and, reverting to her original name, Aegusa, was torpedoed and sunk in June 1915. Crafted to museum-grade standards, adhering to the highest levels of craftsmanship, worthy of display in esteemed institutions, as well as of being ‘pride of place’ in a private home. Built as being historically faithful to the original vessel, a result of meticulous research of the ship’s design and features, from archival plans.Correct premium mahogany & teak, as well as  brass & copper for fittings, ensures durability and its visual appeal. Historically accurate paint schemes and finishes, along with the intricate detailing of deck fittings and carved fiddlehead. Housed in a custom display case with marquetry and brass legend.
