SIV Biome Balancing Serum helps with a range of inflammatory conditions and keeps the skin microbiome balanced and the skin barrier strong, while also helping to reduce oxidative stress, spots, and classic signs of aging. It's compatible with any routine and is used after cleansing and toning (if toner is in use). Your esthetician will let you know how to use it daily or every other day depending on your skin concern. Please avoid the eyes For best results use the serum on damp skin (so after toner or leave face damp (not soaking wet) after cleansing, this is beneficial for acne skin)

Acne:
Acne is in part caused by an overgrowth of C.acnes, the serum helps to recode this bacteria by
giving your skin the tools to bring it down/ outcompete it naturally
It's also a great compliment to acne targeted actives that can be a bit drying on the skin.
It's all about the ecosystem of the skin and reducing the likelihood of a breakout in the future by
providing the skin the proper tools and environment to heal.

Eczema/dermatitis:
Eczema is caused by an overgrowth of S. aureus on the skin. It's quite hard to achieve
sustained relief with a steroid alone as this artificially suppresses the growth of s.aureus. The
spores are able to break the s.aureus biofilm and outcompete the strain to keep eczema away,
while also rebuilding the skin barrier, which s.aureus erodes. That's why it's so hard to keep
proper hydration levels in the skin with eczema.
The serum helps with both of these issues.

Reactivity:
One of the main causes of reactivity is an overactive immune system being triggered by external
environmental factors that should not trigger the skin normally. This is driven by dysbiosis. This
dysbiosis sends immune cells to areas that don't actually have anything wrong- this is where we
see lots of inflammation occur. This inflammatory environment breeds proinflammatory microbes
that erode the skin barrier. We can do all the work we want to the barrier but without addressing
the reason for why it's being eroded, all the work we are doing for the barrier is just being acted
against by the microbes. SIV helps to stop this erosion and gives your body the tools to actually
rebuild the barrier. This will reduce the inflammation, burning sensation, and dehydration.

Aging/longevity:
As we age, the skin's environment goes from more sebaceous to more dry. This newly dry
environment breeds different, more drying bacteria. This bacteria erodes the barrier (resulting in
