USS Hunley (AS‑31) was a Hunley-class submarine tender commissioned on 16 June 1962. Designed to service the U.S. Navy’s nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines (SSBNs), she provided maintenance, logistics, and repair support, including handling the Polaris and later Poseidon missile systems. Hunley operated primarily in the Atlantic and Mediterranean, with notable assignments in Holy Loch, Scotland, and La Maddalena, Italy, supporting Submarine Squadron 14. She was decommissioned on 30 September 1994, struck from the Naval Vessel Register on 3 May 1995, and sold for scrap on 5 January 2007.
