The Hurricane IIC, armed with 4 20mm cannon was introduced in 1942 and made its name in North Africa, with tropical dust engine filters, as shown in this model. Referred to as the 'Hurribomber' it proved itself a highly effective ground attack aircraft, (as well as an impressive night fighter) specialising in the destruction of German and Italian lightly armoured and soft skinned vehicles. Over 4000 were built between 1941 and 1944, 3000 of which were dedicated to ground attack.
