When the order came in 2003, Third Army / ARCENT stood up as the senior Army headquarters for the most complex land campaign since Desert Storm. From the initial invasion to the counterinsurgency surge, from training Iraqi Security Forces to the final drawdown in 2011, Third Army commanded the full spectrum of operations across Iraq.
