"Harmon Canyon in Bloom" was painted en plein air on the picturesque trails of Harmon Canyon, maintained by the Ventura Land Trust. I set up my easel on a small bluff by one of the water crossings, surrounded by the vibrant life of spring. In that moment, the canyon was alive with the flow of water running from the mountains, and every single plant was bursting with color and fragrance.

The experience was electric, a beautiful communion with nature. The birds sang, the animals rejoiced, and the earth itself seemed to hum with vitality. This painting is my attempt to capture that overwhelming beauty and the magnificence of God’s creation—an explosion of life in full bloom. It is a reminder of the delicate balance of nature and the joy that it brings to our souls.
