The second of two French sewing notebooks listed today, both completed by a Micheline Blas c. 1940. This one is not quite as full as the other, but it covers good ground too, with examples demonstrating various types of stitching, seams, hems, fastenings, patching, darning, and knitting, as well as handwritten inventory of linens for the newborn's "layette"! And best of all, a nice small alphabet sampler executed in the typical French manner, out of alphabetical order... here terminating with DOG! Great hand-painted cover too! This one, like the other listed, I know was found years ago at a Parisian flea market.
8 3/4" x 6 4/4". 14 pp, most pages with notes/samples on both sides, as documented. Overall very good condition, with some scattered stains and scuffs to the cover, most notable near the scissors.
