This long slim whip has a gilded cap with cast foliate decoration and a loop which holds a purple silk tasselled wrist strap.
It has a gilt collar, also with cast decoration and a blank shield where initials could be engraved. 
Between the cap and the collar the grip of the whip is covered in tan leather with a finely stitched seam.

 The rest of the long tapering whalebone shaft is covered in braided thread. The whip has its original vellum and silk lash at its end.

There are no maker's marks or stamps
