A mortar & pestle is a versatile and hard-to-replace tool for crushing, dispersing, and mixing solids. In the art studio, it's especially useful for making paint and breaking down natural pigments (like walnut hulls or turmeric).

This mortar & pestle set features an extra-large pestle with a base that fills the entire mortar. Both the interior of the mortar and the bottom of the pestle are textured and unpolished, which gives them much more grinding power. The huge surface area also speeds things up: the grinding area is many times larger than other mortar & pestle sets.

Measures 4" in diameter and 2.25" tall, with a 1.5" bowl depth. Made in Taiwan.
