there’s no perfect translation for saudade. maybe because it holds too many feelings at once.

it’s the love that stays after something or someone is gone. it’s the ache that lives in the chest when a moment slips through your fingers, and you know you’ll never get it back. it’s longing, missing, remembering, not just with your mind, but with your whole body.

this piece came to life while I was thinking about all the things we carry inside: memories, places, people, versions of ourselves we’ve outgrown or had to leave behind. it’s the space between presence and absence, where love and pain sit side by side.

to me, saudade is about honoring what you miss. letting yourself feel it all. the warmth, the love, the depth of having lived something worth missing.
