Dual circuit master cylinder. The use of this master cylinder is mandatory when installing disc brakes on all four wheels. Stock master cylinders cannot provide the additional pressure or correct bias required for 4-wheel disc brake applications. The answer is EMPI's larger 20.6mm bore dual-circuit master cylinder. This master cylinder only fits Super Beetle. To avoid brake failure, each line length related to wheel travel and steering angle must be properly sized. Equally important is that the brake lines are free and uncontaminated. Do not attempt to install brake lines or calipers unless you have the experience to properly evaluate all of these issues.
