We are very proud to present the new
Ed Stafford Signature Nomad knife, co-developed between Ben, Lois and Ed in the Craft Lab from the ever popular and proven Nomad design. This brings together Ben and Lois’s material expertise, design themes and artisan production techniques with Ed’s personal preferences from his years of real-world expedition experience to create a functional masterpiece. In a world where you can survive with a sharpened leaf-spring, this truly is the art of bespoke hand-crafted knife-making, and Ed realising his hard use bushcraft knife. The signature series will offer the same materials through the range using hard use materials that will make super tough and durable Bushcraft tools but with the same great classic look.
The Ed Stafford Signature Nomad is made from 3mm thick AEB-L stainless steel which has been given an acid stonewashed finish, for a more rustic and hard wearing blade finish, it has our logo etched on one side and then Ed's signature on the other. It is a UK legal Friction folder that means there is no lock on the blade but uses the long spur on the back of the blade to prevent the blade from closing when held in the hand. The 3mm steel cuts really well due to the classic "scandi" grind and makes a perfect thickness for lighter bushcraft and woodcraft tasks as well as every day tasks like food prep and cutting string etc. The blade shape is great for all chores including finer work, but is still suitable for all manner of bushcraft tasks due to the slightly thinner blade making it a super versatile blade length. The back edge of the blade is squared for use with a ferro rod and for scraping bark for tinder etc. and can be used like that even when the blade is folded shut for extra safe use. The AEB-L stainless steel is a great steel, it is tough, but is still easy to sharpen and holds a fantastic sharp edge, being stainless steel it can be used in wetter environments and cleaned easily after using it for food preparation.
The handle is made from lovely Desert Ironwood which is naturally oily timber that makes great stable handle material which also looks great with signature Blue G10 liners and back spacer. it has stainless fittings for a clean look and great strength. It has been shaped, contoured to give a great positive fit in the hand. This handle can cope with the rigours of many environments easily and still look great, this handle will be a great choice for the adventurer or bushcrafter who needs a hard use knife which will not let you down regardless of the environment you are in or, if you want a wet weather knife, a canoe bushcraft knife or to use it a lot for food preparation, then this is a great Nomad for your next adventure.
It comes with a Coyote brown kydex neck sheath with a adjustable neck cord made from black 550 Paracord for a great hard use sheath that will lock the knife in place totally securely even in the most extreme use or environment around the globe.
You can also add a Coyote brown leather belt sheath with striking blue stitching to match your Ed Stafford signature Nomad if you would like to be able to wear it on your belt for easy access when out and about.
This knife will make a great EDC that is Uk legal or a perfect companion knife to your ED Stafford Signature Woodlander knife.
This comes with a care sheet, certificate and T9 torx driver to allow you to adjust the pivot bolts to your own preference.
