Chien Du St. Bernard St. Bernard popular dog of the 19th century, was bred by monks for intelligence, bravery and power. Guadez work captures these traits. Dog is sculpted returning from mission of finding young traveler lost on mountain trail. The bronze masterpiece was cast using the lost-wax casting method and stained with a brown patina finish. The sculpture stands upon a black marble square base with the artist Guadez signature.
