Taking its cues from the EMS Synthi AKS, the Matrix Mixer is modern incarnation of the pin matrix, which provided a convenient way to reroute a modular synthesizer’s signal flow via connections made by inserting a physical pin at the intersection of an input and output axis point. The Matrix Mixer retains the intuitive design of its predecessors but upgrades it by eliminating the pin and replacing it with easy-to-use encoder navigation.
