The ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam is Kira Yamato's machine from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED (Cosmic Era 71). Captured from ZAFT by Kira, the Freedom became the symbol of his refusal to keep killing: a nuclear-powered mobile suit with the multi-lock METEOR-compatible weapon system, able to fire all weapons simultaneously in "full burst" mode. This MGSD is the first kit in Bandai's high-end super-deformed line, packing the most mobility, gimmicks, and detail in SD history.

Built to roughly 15cm, the MGSD Freedom Gundam has many internal-frame parts with movable gimmicks for smooth articulation. The main camera and twin eyes use a double-layered clear structure. Bandai's "Real Metallic Gloss Injection" gives a metallic effect across various parts, and a new "Reflection Cut" mechanism sits on the clear parts inside the wing binders. The external armour uses a two-tone moulding for added precision. The head moves on three axes. The torso's multiple movable axes allow wide left/right swing and forward/backward tilt. Swingable hip joints and shoulder swing mechanisms widen leg and arm range, forearms extend for deeper bends, and knee armour and rear-knee verniers interlock when bending. Movable toes allow a natural kneeling pose despite the SD proportions.
