Waves are always in motion.

I wanted to paint an ocean inspired scene in a large scale, the largest I've done to date.

Initially my intention had been to paint an ocean scene as see from above with a surfer walking on the beach. However it was so intriguing for me to hear visitors to my studio describe totally different things they could see, which led me to thinking how we all have different perspectives even though we might be looking at the same thing.

Because of all this different opinions I decided to leave the surfer out, and allow the viewer to let their imagination make up its own mind.

I was fortunate enough to win a Merit award at the 'Hibiscus and Bays Art Awards'in Auckland, New Zealand.
