Sam's view: In the centre of this ballerina style cluster of diamonds is a square-cut 1.20 carat teal sapphire gemstone. On either side of the sapphire are five tapering-baguette cut diamonds while above and below are three round-cut diamonds. A second, slightly larger, contrasting arrangement of baguette and round cut diamonds creates a wave-like motion to form the celebrated 'ballerina' ring that derives its name from the ballerina tutu dress. The forty-three diamonds amount to a combined weight of 0.80 carats and lead down to an 18ct yellow gold basket setting. An exciting ring that will be lots of fun to wear, circa 1980.
