Designer Max Lamb's crockery pieces for 1882 Ltd. use an innovative process to achieve their rugged and characterful appearance.

To start, Max creates the bowl's shape from a solid block of plaster using a hammer and chisel. This form is used for a hollow mould that allows the Oblong Bowl to be slip-cast in fine bone china. Expert potters in Stoke-On-Trent then use all their skills and knowledge to cast and carefully fire the limited edition piece.

This statement bowl features a glazed interior and a natural bisque exterior that emphasises its raw, hand-carved texture.
