Fabulous Italian designer brooch by Gianfranco Ferre. This couture brooch has an antique gold textured finish and is decorated with clear and sparkling rhinestones. This is a striking piece of jewelry from one of his early collections. In the 1970's, the famous Milan architect, Gianfranco Ferre started creating high fashion jewelry and clothing. According to the the book Fashion Jewellery Made In Italy, "Ferre infused his culture and passion as an architect in the structure of his clothes, which he treated as though they were buildings. He reserved the same sculptural approach to the shape of his fashion jewellery pieces, which he had manufactured by the Florentine Company Il Gioiello di Firenze (The Jewel of Florence) located in the district of Bagno a Ripoli." In later years Ferre created jewelry under his own label.
