OC818 Professional Condenser

The OC818 is a professional large-diaphragm condenser microphone, designed and handmade in Vienna for unrivalled versatility in studio and live recording. At its heart is the dual-diaphragm CKR12 ceramic capsule, engineered for stability, consistency and natural sound across all sources.

With four switchable polar patterns (cardioid, hypercardioid, omni and figure-8) plus a preset dual-cardioid mode, the OC818 adapts effortlessly to any recording scenario. Microprocessor control ensures precise polarisation voltages, delivering guaranteed sensitivity and balance across both diaphragms.

Dual Outputs

The microphone includes two analogue high-pass filters with three settings, selectable pads (0, –10, –20 dB), and dual outputs — including a discrete balanced output for the rear diaphragm via mini XLR. This unique feature enables dual cardioid mode and advanced stereo techniques.

Bluetooth Control

Expand its potential with OCR8 Bluetooth control and the Polarpilot app, allowing wireless adjustment of polar patterns, pads and filters in real time. Further flexibility comes from the included suite of software tools:

• PolarDesigner: Create custom polar responses across 1–5 crossover bands.
• StereoCreator: Experiment with stereo techniques such as X/Y, M/S and Blumlein.
• AmbiCreator: Generate Ambisonic B-format recordings for VR and immersive audio.

Open Acoustic Technology ensures a pure analogue signal path and an uncoloured, natural sound. Capable of handling SPLs up to 158 dB, the OC818 performs equally well on vocals, acoustic instruments, ensembles, electric guitar, and drums. It is also ideal for stereo and room recording applications. Available in silver or black.
