Appearance: Fine purple-red powder.
Odor: The characteristic odor.
Rosehip is the fruit of the rose plant, with extract powder derived from its seeds and shell. It contains high levels of vitamin C as well as 32 other minerals and vitamins, including beta carotene, bioflavonoids, calcium, citrates, citric acid, iron malates, malic acid, niacin, phosphorus, and vitamins A, B1, B2, E, and K. In most rose species, the fruit ranges from red to orange, but it can also be dark purple.

How to include extracts into formulations
Most extracts should be introduced during the formulation's cool-down phase.
For shampoo, creams, and other thick products: Mix 5-10 ml of hot water (45 °C -50 °C; the temperature of the cool down phase) into the powdered extract until dissolved. Combine this mixture thoroughly with the product.
For mists, toners, and other products made virtually entirely of water: The extract does not need to be dissolved before use. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry environment away from sunlight.
